Senior Internal Auditor

The Physicians Mutual Internal Audit Department is seeking an experienced Senior Auditor to plan, lead and conduct audit activities on internal control systems, procedures, policies and implementations.  You would perform and lead financial audits, operational audits and compliance reviews.  You would also coordinate audit and review activities between the company and external auditors, legal counsel, business affiliates and regulators to ensure work is completed efficiently and according to standards.

 

Qualifications:

• Bachelorâ??s Degree in Accounting
• 4 yearsâ?? experience in public accounting or internal auditing; supervisory experience a plus
• Professional Designation of CPA, CISA or CIA preferred
• Internal control auditing experience (SOX or MAR) preferred

 

Best-fit candidates will have most or all of the following:

• Knowledge of financial statement audit and internal control testing
• Ability to assess a process or procedure and identify control points, weaknesses, and associated risk exposure
• Technical and analytical skills needed to use audit software and develop databases and spreadsheets to recognize patterns and discrepancies in data
• Initiative and ability to lead and participate in multiple projects simultaneously, meet deadlines and prioritize tasks
• Knowledge of insurance operations
• Excellent written and oral communications skills
• Ability to work in a team environment
